Riot Games claims to increase the competitiveness of MSI 2024 further. In addition, Riot Games will create a closer link between MSI 2024 and Worlds 2024.
At Worlds 2024, LEC, LCS, LCK and LPL areas will be given 3 attendees. Meanwhile, PCS and VCS still receive 2 interest; LLA and CBLOL have 1 capacity to attend Worlds 2024.
Riot Games introduces a new way for teams and areas to show their strength, as well as gain an additional capacity to Worlds 2024 through the competition at MSI 2024. The second most good achievement in MSI 2024 will receive an extra seed.
To ensure that the team with Worlds 2024 will still try to play in the domestic tournament, they have to enter the summer play-off round of their regional tournament. Note, this regulation does not apply to LEC because the team will go straight to their regional finals.
Suppose if this is the MSI 2023, JDG will hold the ticket for Worlds 2023, and the LPL area will have a total of 4 capacity in the tournament. At the same time, the area with the second most good achievement – LCK in MSI 2023 – will have an additional one at Worlds 2023, a total of 4.
