On January 21, Valorant officially updated version 10.01. Accordingly, the most noticeable change in this version is the ranked shield update. This feature is considered a “insurance” for players, more convenient when climbing.

The way the shield is as follows: The rating will appear when you are in the first class of one step, such as silver 1, gold 1 or platinum 1.
It can be understood that, if you are in the first ranks, players can lose up to 2 matches and will not be relegated. In addition, only the first rank is entitled to this “remuneration”, the second rankings such as silver 2, gold 2 will have no shields. However, players should note that this ranking shield is only promoted or descended, if winning when there are 0 points, it is not allowed to add this shield.

Besides this change, Valorant also announced another major update that affects the game, which is the change of the map. Accordingly, Icebox and Ascent will return to the map system of the Competitive mode as well as the professional arena. The two maps will be eliminated as the latest map of Abyss as well as bind.

Earlier, just in the last 10.0 version, Riot Games eliminated Ascent and Sunset from the official map system. Currently, although there is no official time to change the map, this update is expected to reach the new ACT, around March – April.
