The Game Award 2024 is an annual award organized by journalist Geoff Keighley to honor the best games in 2024. The event was held in 2014 and now the 10th year of this event.
Esports subjects are also appeared in this event with many items like the best coach, the best Esports event. However, this year the event has only 3 categories: Esports game of the year, the Esports player of the year and the Esports team of the year.
Nomination for the Esports game award of the year:
– Counter-Strike 2
– Dota 2
– League of Legends
– Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
– Valorant
In 2023, Valorant was a winning game in this category with an explosion of views as well as attractive eSports background. However, this year this award is likely to belong to League of Legends when setting a new view record in Esports history (nearly 7 million viewers at the same time).

The nominations for the Esports player of the year are also controversial, the first is Chovy even though winning two titles, LCK Spring and MSI 2024 did not play well in the second half of the season. Meanwhile, JL is the most appreciated player in the Navi CS2 lineup but Aleksib is the nominated person.
However, Faker is still the highest rated player when winning two international championships, Esports World Cup and World Championship 2024. Even Faker also won both FMVP titles, honoring the best player in the final. Last year, the mid lane of T1 was also the winner of this award after the 4th World Championship in his career.

Currently, the number 1 candidate for this title is Navi and T1. The CS2 team won a series of tournaments in 2024, including the title at Major Copenhagen, the first Major of CS2. Meanwhile, T1 won two major titles of League of Legends, Esports World Cup and World Championship 2024.
The Game Award 2024 will be held on 12/12 at Peacock Thea, Los Angeles, USA. The prize will be voted by the jury (accounting for 90% of votes) and fans (accounting for 10%) in the next 1 month. Fans can vote for items until December 11 through the official channel Thegameawards.com.
