The Game Awards 2023: Faker 2nd won 'Best Esports player' award

The Game Awards 2023 is an annual award, to recognize and promote outstanding achievements and individuals in the global video game industry.

In the category “Best Esports player”, Faker overcame a series of candidates including Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk (League of Legends), Max “Demon1” Mazanov (Valorant), Mathieu “Zywoo” Herbaut (CS: GO), Paco “Hydra” Rusiewiez (Call of Duty) or Phillip “Imperialhal” Dosen ” Legends).

Previously, Faker was also voted as “Best Esports player” at The Game Awards 2017. Accordingly, Faker became the first player to be honored twice in the category “Best Esports player” since The Game Awards was born.

Besides Faker, the publisher Riot Games also dominated the awards at The Game Awards 2023 when Valorant surpassed PUBG Mobile, League of Legends, Dota 2 and CS: Go 2 to become the “best eSports subject”.

Besides, Worlds 2023 was voted as “Best Esports tournament”, JD Gaming – “Best Esports team” and Potter coach of Evil Geniuses Valorant team won “Best Esports coach”.
