BTC WCS Vietnam 2022 officially sanctioned the SBTC Esports team to receive 3 losses (with the score 0-2) for violating the provisions of the competition time under Article 14.2 in the competition law of the tournament. Accordingly, members of SBTC Esports were not present at the prescribed time in March 17 (meeting AS Esports in round 9), March 18 (meeting MDH Esports in round 10), and March 19 (meeting in round 11).
The Law 14.2 in WCS Vietnam's Competition Law 2022 stated: “The player registered by the teams participating in the WCS must be present at the competition venue not later than the time prescribed by the BTC (2 hours before the competition). After the attendance, all athletes must not leave the competition area.”
The squad of SBTC Esports participating in the Vietnam WCS 2022 includes T3 (top lane), TF (forest), July (middle line), Kiral (gunner), Akeno (support), Kirito (ADC/Preparatory) and Chaoz (forest/reserve).
In the pre -season of the 2022 season, SBTC Esports used to have the perpetrator Minh Phuoc (Minas) that was banned indefinitely from all electronic sports activities of Riot Games – including the official tournament and the tournament organized by a third unit due to violation of Article 8.3 related to betting activities.
The decision was issued after considering the seriousness of sabotage of integrity in electronic sports competitions, along with Minas's criminal records in other electronic sports tournaments organized by Riot Games. The penalty has begun to take effect from November 10, 2021.
Article 8.3 Regarding betting activities clearly stated: Unexpected members, members of the Organizing Committee are Riot Games personnel or personnel of Riot Games partner units, allowed to participate, whether directly or indirectly, on betting or gambling based on the results of any game, match or tournament.
