The price of SGB when sold to Vikings Esports is not disclosed. Previously, SGB had a pricing price for the team for 900 million VND. SGB also pledges 900 million VND to be the cheapest cost to buy a League of Legends team in Vietnam. In addition to the fee of 900 million VND, SGB confirmed that the salary fund of the current team is in the lowest in the tournament.
According to ITHETHAO.VN source, previously, owner Nguyen Van Nhat Linh used to pricing SGB up to 500,000 USD (about 11.8 billion) in late 2022. At the same time, he also contacted the Korean Sports Brokerage Company based in Vietnam to find the buyer. He even affirmed that “someone paid 400,000 USD” at the time before trading with CNJ Esports in November 2022.
However, in February 2023, CNJ Esports decided to cancel the acquisition because “it has caused serious damage both inside and outside in promoting business”.
In the last 2023 season, SGB ranked fifth at VCS Dao Dong 2023 and ranked 4th at VCS Sunset 2023. With the Buffalo brand in the past 5 years, they have won the VCS Summer 2018, VCS Spring 2019, attending MSI 2019 & 2022, participating in the World Final 2017, 2018 and 2022.
In the past, Vikings Esports used to participate in VCS Spring 2015 and VCS Summer 2018. However, after being unable to relegation, Vikings Esports has disappeared from the League of Legends in Vietnam since the VCS Spring 2019.
