Riot Games introduced the new President of the Group – Hoby Darling – through the press release posted on the website. Before being president of Riot Games, Hoby Darling spent a lot of time working for leadership positions in many famous corporations such as Logitech, Skullcandy/Astro Gaming, Volcom and Nike.
Most recently, Hoby Darling is a member of the Logitech Global Management Board, co -founder a new part of Logitech focusing on electronic sports, content creator and future of Gaming. During his working time in other corporations, he also carried out many activities combining gaming and real life.
Hoby Darling said when she became the CEO of Riot Games: “For the first time I entered Riot, I felt a powerful, soul and courage that I knew I needed to be a part of it. I worked with many companies and something special here, a place to accept risks, challenge limits and always commit strongly to my mission.”
However, League of Legends fans expressed doubts with this decision from the publisher. On a Reddit forum, discussing changes, many players find it hard to believe when a person who has worked at Nike and Skullcandy will have knowledge of video games and electronic sports to lead Riot Games.
However, Riot Games's decision has been announced with the history of working at Logitech, some other fans still believe that Hoby Darling will take on the role of president, leading the corporation to continue great successes to date.
