Reporter: What is the goal of Riot Games when launching Project K?
– Production Director Dave Guskin: We think this is an interesting space for people to experience League of Legends characters, but in the way there is more social exchange, like sitting down with friends and playing together. It is an interesting game and we want to share it with the player.

In addition, there are common points between League of Legends players. For example, there are people who play the truth, tactical games. And there are also those who like characters from League of Legends. That is what makes us very excited.
What is the difference between Project K and other card games?
– Production director Dave Guskin: There are several points that make the Project K unique. First, this is a highly social game and many players together. It is designed so you can play with your friends. This is a relaxed game and you will never be eliminated. Therefore, you can easily fight happily to the end. Important moments can come at any time. I think that is really important.
In addition, Project K has a tactical depth. You can find the strategy you like. You can choose your favorite generals from League of Legends. And you can apply new tactics more in Project K compared to other games. I think the way to implement the strategy in Project K is a bit more unique.

Which country will the Project K be launched first?
– Production director Dave Guskin: We currently do not have specific timelines. Now we have a very potential partner in China. Therefore, we plan to debut in China early, hoping to be early 2025.
However, we want to bring the game to players everywhere. Ideally, anywhere with players, we can provide them games. But we need to consider what is feasible. We have to find the right partner and determine which area will be launched before and after. But as planned, Project K will be launched in China in early 2025 and then in other areas.
Is there a Project K tournament in the future?
– Production director Dave Guskin: I think the tournaments are really important. Essential competition system for games. Because if there is no way to identify the best player, sometimes people will think that the game is not supported. And you will not want to invest a lot of time and energy to play better. Therefore, I think the tournament is really important.
We want to organize tournaments at all levels, from local levels to regional tournaments and even countries. But we have no detailed plan. I think we will need time to plan the tournament.
However, the most ideal is when we launch the game for players, we want to be able to say that you can participate in the competitions right now. Therefore, we have no specific plan but will sometimes launch (game).

Where did you inspire and have any special messages you want to send from Project K?
– Production director Dave Guskin: The most important thing is when you look at the types of games that people play together, I think there will be a lot of fun laughter and moments. And that's what we really want to bring in Project K.
The card games are highly competitive, requiring thorough thinking, almost like chess. We don't want that. We want to bring a fun, interesting game. That's what I really care about in Project K. And I think we have found something very interesting. It is still suitable for players who want high competition, but I think it is not necessary to play that way because there are other ways of playing.
Therefore, the most important thing I want to say is that there are many different ways to play Project K. You can really choose to play as you like. And almost everything in the game design is built in that direction. You can choose to play through your strategy. And it really shows how you play.
Can you share interesting stories when designing Project K?
– Production director Dave Guskin: I don't know if you have played, but in the game there are battlefields in the middle and you will fight in that area. Although we know we like this system, where it focuses on the chessboard center and you know we will fight there, we don't know exactly how it works effectively. Therefore, we have tried many different versions, like we will design the battlefield in a certain way and when we play to the middle of the match, we think, no, this way is not good. Therefore, we have to take out the pen and change immediately.
Therefore, finding the right version is really challenging. I think what we find is what really makes the general's actions shine. The war between the new generals is important. And there is a lot of space for us to design for the future. And I think that is also very interesting. Therefore, it takes time to find it. But when we found, we were really excited about that.
