After 1 year of interruption because of Covid-19, one of the two largest, international events of the Mobile Union, Arena of Valor World Cup (AWC), will return this year 2021. The tournament is held in the form of online, scheduled to take place from June 19 to July 18 with a total bonus of up to 500 thousand USD, equivalent to about 12 billion VND.
AWC 2021 has the presence of leading teams from 8 areas including: Vietnam, Thailand, Taipei China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, China and Brazil. Particularly in Vietnam, Thailand and Taipei China, there will be 3 participants selected from professional tournaments of each corresponding region. In particular, Vietnam will take the participating teams based on achievements in the fame and fame arena of Spring 2021.
Team Flash is currently the reigning AWC champion, also one of the three representatives of the Vietnamese region to attend this year's tournament. Together with the new King of Spring Fame 2021 is the runner-up team, Saigon Phantom and the 3rd team, V-Gaming.
According to the drawing results, Team Flash is in Group A and 3 teams including Mad Team (Taipei China), Buriram United Esports (Thailand) and Dewa United Esports (Indonesia). This is also considered the “death table” of AWC 2021 because there are up to the top 3 teams in the world to compete for 2 tickets to continue.
Mad Team is a “rival” with a lot of debt with the Flash team and is the reigning AIC champion. At AWC 2019, ADC and his teammates defeated Mad Team in the final that is considered the best history of the Mobile Union with a score of 4-3 to become a world champion. Meanwhile, Buriram United Esports is the most achievement team in Thailand with experienced stars including Firstone, Nunu and KSSA.
Runner -up of the Arena Fame Saigon Phantom is quite “easy to breathe” when lying in Group C. The most formidable opponent of the “ghosts of Saigon” is Tan Vuong Thailand, Bacon Time. The Indonesian champion, Archangel and representatives of the MSP area, Undertank promises to be two interesting unknowns.
The remaining representative of Vietnam, V-Gaming fell into Group B with One Team (Taipei China), Zen 9 Gaming (Japan) and Team Civ (China). One Team is not a strange name when it is always in the top of the strongest teams in Taipei China and Zen 9 and the Civ team are still quite new on the Mobile Lien Quan map of the world.
The final group, Group D with the participation of Most Outstanding Player (Taipei China), DTAC Talon (Thailand), Team 3 Stars (Korea) and Overclock Esports (Brazil). MOP is Tan Vuong GCS and DTAC Talon is a former King of Thailand, also the champion of Road to AWC in Thailand.
