According to the CEO of Alban Dechelotte, G2 Esports defeated about 17 organizations in the race to buy back The Guard. 4 players Jonah “Jonahp” Pulice, Michael “Net” Bernet, Trent Cairns, Jacob “Valyn” Batio and coach Josh “Joshrt” Lee signed a 2 -year contract with G2. Meanwhile, the 5th player of G2 has not been determined.
G2 Esports will play in VCT of America in the 2024 & 2025 season. At this time, G2 is “still deciding” the fifth player in the team in the “Special Season”, where there are many talents, including the players are limited and not limited to free transfer.

Dechelotte said the organization was waiting for more than 1 year. In addition, Dechelotte revealed that G2 has reviewed every way possible to achieve the highest position of VCT, including ascension through the Na Challengers 2023, moved to China, acquired the entire organization or cooperated with The Guard. Therefore, G2 contacted The Guard right after Riot allowed the player to join other organizations.
“This is a system for us to interact with fans through the American tournament, as well as Masters and Champions,” Dechelotte said. “We are very excited with the general view and digital items. We were very sad when we were not involved in the tournament. However, when we have the opportunity to come back, it is great news for everyone.”
The contract of 4 players has a term of 2 years. However, in case G2 has a full -time partnership in the US VCT, there will be options to extend the contract.
