At TFT Macao Open 2024, hundreds of reporters, journalists, KOL, streamer and theCC player have directly experienced Project K under the guidance of the Riot Games development and game design team.
The Project K will also be one of the series of Riot Games “following” League of Legends, typically Legends of Runeterra and Wild Rift (League of War). However, Project K will be a game using physical cards, instead of being played on electronic devices.
Previously, Project K was revealed in China in early 2024 with the name “Rune Battlegrounds”. In addition, the latest notice of Riot Games said the Project K will be officially released in early 2025. After release in China, Project K will continue to be expanded to areas like Europe and North America.
However, Project K possibility will not be the last name of this game, if based on the example of Valorant (once called Project A). Riot Games also confirmed that Project K will be different from Legends of Runeterra, the card game played on electronic devices was launched in 2020.
After the official launch in early 2025, Riot Games is planning to organize events and operate regularly at local stores, as well as tournaments with a worldwide scale. However, currently the player can experience Project K through the tables available at the TFT Macao Open 2024 Tournament, taking place from December 13 to December 15 in Macao, China.
