According to the annual practice from 2023, the Season Opening tournament is an entertainment event organized by LCK with fun formats before the stressful season ahead. This year, the Season Opening event of the 2025 season will be held on January 10, 2025 in Lol Park, South Korea.
The event organizers also announced that there will be 5 teams attending with the captain Kiin – Peanut – Faker – Gumayusi – Delight, respectively. The captains will select members in the form of a snake with two rounds of options.
Selection rules: 5 captains will be in the order of draw, to the last person will return to the fourth person and continue to choose until the end of the round. In addition, each LCK team can only choose 1 player/round. Thus, 1 team will have a maximum of 4 members, including 2 captains and 2 selected people.
Regarding the competition format, the teams will be involved in a game “Physical 30” and the winning team will be decided by the group. Accordingly, branch 1 will have two teams B and C confrontation, the winning team in this match will continue to meet team A to reach the final, team D and team E will meet in the other branch. The matches all delineated the results with the Bo1, the team that played better in “Physical 30” will be selected inside the match.
The award for the Season Opening event will include 100 costumes for each player (a total of 500 costumes) to send to the fans. In addition, the best player in this tournament will receive 1 million won (Korean money unit) first. After this event, the teams will prepare for the 2025 season starting on January 15 with the LCK Cup 2025 tournament.
