In the opening match of the play-off round, Paper Rex (PRX) confronted G2 Esports (G2) at three Split, Lotus and Icebox maps. In the first map, G2 chose to play attack and started with the first two victories. Although PRX quickly equalized and then took the lead, G2 still returned in time to lead 7-5 after the first round.
By the time they exchanged, G2 continued to win the green round and Eco round, though the PRX won 7 rounds to win Match Point. The victory in the 22nd round is not enough for the G2 to prevent the PRX to finish the first map with a score of 13-10, taking the lead 1-0. Lotus map became more tense when PrX won the circle but lost to Eco. After that, the two sides repeatedly chased each other and ended the first 12 rounds with a score of 6-6.
However, PRX began to surpass in the second round when continuing to win the circle, creating an advantage of 3 rounds. In the round 21, PRX won Match Point but did not let G2 bring the match to Overtime but ended with the score 13-11, won the final 13-11 and set the score 2-0.
In the next match, Sentinels (Sen) confronted the Chinese champion Xi Lai Gaming (XLG) at the three Sunset (XLG), Lotus (Sen) and Pearl maps. At Sunset, Sen soon took the lead and created a distance of 5-1, then led 8-4 on the attack side. XLG also won the first 2 rounds after changing sides but Sen did not add any chances, won the last 5 rounds and set the score 13-6 to take the lead 1-0.
At Lotus, XLG chose to attack and continue to start smoothly with the first 2 victories. However, Sen has quickly returned and once again created a distance of 8-4. By the time it was attacked, Sen quickly won 7 match point with a distance of 12-5 and finally set the score 13-6, won the final 2-0.
With this result, Sentinels will confront Paper Rex in the semi -finals of Thang branch. On June 14, the remaining two matches in the first round of Play-off will also take place with the following schedule:
