“With the participation of FC Barcelona in Valorant, we added a new team to represent the club in 2024. The club continues to commit our commitment to electronic sports, wishing to explore new opportunities and approach new objects,” said Vice President of Barca, Juli Gui.
Before Valorant, Barca had a League of Legends team, Efootball (PES) and Rocket League (from 2019 – 2022). Investing in Valorant is a very important part of the Barca Games initiative in collaboration with MAS Ros Media and Firespords, in order to establish the presence in the world of video games and online broadcasting. Barca Games is expected to launch in April.
Information about Barca's Valorant squad has not been revealed. Meanwhile, the head coach of Barca Esports is likely to be Lucas “Lrojo” Rojo.
Valorant Challengers Spain Rising Split 1 – 2024 will open on January 15. Here, Barca Esports will attend the tournament as a guest team.
