APL 2025 is the first international tournament in 2025 of the Mobile Union, gathering 16 teams to attend from June 26-20 in July in Bangkok, Thailand. This year, Vietnam entered the APL 2025 tournament with 4 representatives: Saigon Phantom, FPT Flash, Box Gaming and One Star Esports. First, 16 participating teams will play in the Swiss round to find 8 representatives in the play-off.
After 4 matches of Box Gaming, the first representative of Vietnam was eliminated with a achievement of 1 and 3 losses. Following the box, One Star Esports was eliminated with 2 wins – 3 losses. FPT Flash started the tournament more smoothly when becoming the first Vietnamese team to overcome the Swiss round with a record of 3 wins – 1 losses.
Meanwhile, the defending champion of Vietnam-Saigon Phantom faced many difficulties in the Swiss round of APL 2025. Opening with a 2-1 victory over One Team, Saigon Phantom continuously lost 1-2 against Buriram United Esports and Full Sense. Finally, Ban Ban and his reigning teammates champion Banmei Gaming 3-1 before defeating One Star 3-0 in the last match.
Stepping at the Play-off, both representatives of Vietnam soon received a defeat, Saigon Phantom lost to the full Sense 3-2 and the Ank Gaming defeated FPT Flash 3-1. After losing the branch, FPT Flash continued to lose 2-3 before Earena and was officially eliminated from the tournament. Meanwhile, Saigon Phantom surpasses Deep Cross Gaming 3-1 to enter the top 6.
On July 12, the first two teams in the top 4 of APL 2025 were Flash Wolves and Buriram United. Accordingly, Saigon Phantom will confront Ank Gaming in the losing branch. If you win against the representative of Taipei China, Saigon Phantom will advance to the semi -finals of the loss, and win tickets to the Bitec Live Hall Stadium to compete in the final round.
