Cloud 9 broke up with the coach before the LCS Spring 2023

Waldo joined C9 at the end of 2020 as a strategic coach and helped the team reach the peak of the tournament by ending the spring of 2021 at the top of the table. Finally, they defeated the Liquid team in the final but was eliminated early at Mid-Season Invitational that year.

By 2022, Cloud9 appointed Waldo to become the head coach to lead the team since January. Previously, this team has been controversial when deciding to dismiss the former coach Nick “LS” De Cesare. The story between LS and C9 becomes a hot topic in the first months of the year. The reason for LS to be named out of the official list is because both parties do not agree with personal decisions.

Returning to Waldo's story, the former Cloud9 coach will pursue the way to create content. After a period of attachment, Waldo created a beautiful memory at C9. They ended the season with the team's first LCS championship since 2013. Although the whole team did not play well at Worlds, the C9's achievement in the second half could be called an acceptable temporary.

Regarding leaving, Waldo shared on his personal page: “I have 2 great years with C9 and wish them the best. I have made the soonest decision, which is why I was included in their most recent announcement.” He will soon leave C9's business version, Cuu Van has a replacement plan as coach Mithy (former professional player). After the transfer season, Cloud9 is a rare team that keeps its squad.
