Kkoma: I was worried a lot during the preparation for ASIAD 19. It was relieved when we returned to the gold medal. In the first week after ASIAD 19, the first thing that appeared in my thoughts every morning woke up was: “Oh, so relieved.”
Why did you choose T1 and not the teams in China?
People may say that I have heard the call of my heart. I received this offer during Worlds 2023. Although the 2024 squad has not been confirmed, I did not think much but signed a contract immediately.
Perhaps when I was old, my thoughts also changed. So recently I thought that “Is the money is everything?”. But of course I still advise the players to make a lot of money. In fact, the salary problem is not a factor to choose when agreeing to accept T1, but I am also quite sad to read words like “T1 will lose the players because they just follow the recruitment of Kim Jeonggyun”.
I have a desire to accompany 10 years with T1. Before that, I worked in T1 from 2013 to 2019, 7 years. Now, I will continue to operate here for another 3 years, so that I will accompany my fans for 10 years. I was the one who proposed to sign a 3 -year contract. 10 years is a time if you think it's long, it will be long, and if you think it's short, it will be just a snap. But this way, I want to share the joy, share sadness, want to overcome ups and downs with T1 fans. I also want to accompany and stick with Faker for 10 years.
The 2024 squad has not been revealed but did you agree first?
I also watched T1 when Worlds 2023 was still happening and did not think about how the transfer market would take place. However, I expressed my opinion with the team that I wanted to keep the current squad.
Do you have any words to send to fans?
I always have a strong desire to give joy and happiness to T1 fans. This time, I did not hear the details of the other team's suggestions and chose T1. Faith must depend on each person, but I believe that the goal of a professional sports coach is merely making fans laugh in happiness. I will work my best in the next 3 years.
