This spring, the audience will no longer see Canyon accompanying Showmaker in the upper half of the Dplus map. On November 21, the photo “Farewell Canyon” appeared on the team's homepage. Unlike the two members who broke up with DK during this period, Deft and Canna, the name Canyon was always closely linked to the forest of DK, as a “lifestyle guarantee” for DK's development history. Right from the debut of the professional arena, Canyon was DK's jungle. When DK was still young after 1 year of establishment, Canyon was there, accompanying the organization to go through many tournaments.
As of the 2023 season, Canyon's career dedicated to the DK shirt. Even, the name DK Canyon was so deep in the audience's mind that people forgot that: this talented jungle is still very young. He is only 22 years old this year, but has 6 years with DK. The connection between Canyon and DK is so deep that many people think that he will be like Faker, sticking to an organization for up to 10 years. But, after all ups and downs, Canyon will switch to playing in Gen.G. The name that once lit the forest of DK, bring DK to the top of the glory will now wear a new shirt, carrying the responsibility of carrying the forest of Gen.G on the shoulder.
On the journey for 6 years Canyon walked with DK, there was a small teammate who always accompanied him. Nobody else, is the middle line Showmaker. Like Canyon, the 23 -year -old line has also devoted both youth and career for the DK shirt. They started playing together in 2018, when they were only 17 or 18 years old.
Together, they have overcome the difficult early period of DK. The first imprints of the duo appeared since the spring of 2019, when they excelled in difficulties and reached the group of 4 strongest teams. A lot of efforts later took them over the summer LCK, regional qualifiers and even stepped out to the world final playground in the first year of accompanying.
Entering 2020, in the context of LCK's big guys fluctuating and struggling to find the right step, dking as a phenomenon. In particular, it is impossible to ignore the performance of the 3 -wing set on Nuguri – Canyon and Showmaker. DK brings an attractive gameplay, creating an endless source of inspiration for that season. In particular, the focal point of attraction is the Canyon and Showmaker duo.
At the Summoner Cup 2020 that year, perhaps the time was ripe for DK, especially the jungle – mid lane duo. They achieved the outbreak, bringing the destructive performance of all opponents. Showmaker and Canyon together extinguish all the audience's doubts about a young team to the world. They are a solid backbone, a link in the area between the map, creating a dk cohesion in all 5 positions. As a result, the parallel duo raised the 2020 World Championship trophy, and was ready to write more astronomy together in the DK shirt.
Step to the LCK 2021 season as the defending world champion, Showmaker and Canyon continue to disappoint the audience. No surprise happened, DK continued to be the hegemony of the domestic tournament, bringing the pride of the LCK area to the world. Yet, DK proved to be less charming with the two biggest tournaments of that year, MSI 2021 and World Championship 2021. They lost the same score 2-3 full of struggle against two representatives of China, RNG and EDG, returning home with a double “runner -up” – the prospect that few people expect.
That 2021 season is probably a turning point for DK career. In the next 2 years, they walked down the slope, constantly sliding throughout the domestic and foreign arena. During the 2021 season to the end of 2023, DK recorded a constant human resource fluctuation. The tests in the squad and the gameplay make the situation of the former world champion become even more confusing, with the results of the whole year. DK is like a “transfer station”, welcoming and saying goodbye to so many players: Khan, Beryl, Ghost, Malrang, Deokdam, even the remaining piece of that 3 -year set, Nuguri, said goodbye.
Amidst the people who come to the people, when the ups and downs of DK, there are two gods from the first day still staying and dedicating. Nobody else is Showmaker and Canyon. They broke up with their former teammates together, welcoming new names, integrating, fighting the same as the first days. Although there is no official debut, Lucid was soon the focus of the community. Lucid is even honored as “the greatest talent that LCK Challengers has ever produced”.
Only with that information, it is difficult to assert whether Lucid has a perfect replacement, or even an upgraded version of Canyon for the DK forest in the new season. Because, Canyon's shadow is too big even if anyone sits down this position.
Temporarily put aside the eagerness, waiting for the upcoming LCK season, the “parting” of the duo used to “close” Showmaker – Canyon really left many regrets, especially in the hearts of long -term fans, accompanying these two young players through every step of his career. However, this door closed, another door will open for both.
They will continue to spread in their own world, with teammates to create new miracles. Although no longer in the same color, Showmaker and Canyon will continue to breathe the common atmosphere called the professional League of Legends, continue the journey to find the glory, once again stepped on the highest podium of the Summoner's Cup.
