Thanatos officially broke up with the other Dplus, expected to play abroad

According to the notice from DK, Thanatos' contract has expired and the upper line decides not to renew. Previously, Thanatos' contract was deleted from Riot Games's global contract data system on April 8. Thus, Thanatos will end more than 3 years of playing for DK, starting from the summer of 2020 when the team is still named Damwon Academy.

On social networking platforms, DK sent greetings to Thanatos: “We would like to thank Thanatos for his strong play, his trust. At the same time we always appreciate the memories and everything that the two sides have achieved together. We sincerely wish Thanatos the best in the future.”

Previous rumors said the possibility of Thanatos will go abroad to play. Sheep Esports reported that Thanatos would join Cloud9 to replace Fudge. Earlier, Cloud9 reunited with Reapered coach to prepare for the summer tournament. This team has just defeated 0-3 to the Liquid team in the final of the LCS LCS in the spring of 2024, thereby unable to win tickets to MSI 2024.

In his career, Thanatos once and Dplus twice won the LCK Challengers, the young tournament for LCK teams in the spring of 2022 and the spring of 2023. In the last season, Thanatos was not on the main squad DK, and did not play at LCK Challengers in the spring of 2024. There were rumors that the player wanted to play at the 1st team with Lucid team but was not approved by the Board of Directors.
