In addition to optimizing the business model with professional teams, Riot also sought more methods to increase the competitiveness and balance of regional tournaments in general. Therefore, Riot will start exchanging and chatting with teams in the current 7 regions about the intention to create multi -region tournaments. Esports fans of League of Legends clearly love the battles between the two areas because of their love and passion associated with the geographical position.

America

The LCS tournament in North America has recently been very popular with fans and the number of viewers has begun to increase after 4 years. CBLOL in Brazil is becoming more famous than ever because of the powerful number of fans and admirable viewers. LLA in Latin America also showed “happy signals” in 2024 by the interest and the number of viewers of global tournaments as well as other tournaments such as LCS and Lblol are increasing. At the same time, fans have also started to participate more in Riot's live broadcast and broadcast channels, showing great attention to inter -regional tournaments.

LCS is attracting the audience to watch the tournament again

Riot believes that he has the opportunity to create a tournament across the Americas, gathering “forces” to serve fans, teams and players. In the new proposal model, two LCS and CBLOL tournaments will play in North America and South America branches.

Each branch will maintain 6 existing partners teams, integrating 1 more team from the LLA tournament based on the linkage in the geographical position, the same “visitors” to rank promotion and relegate through the 2nd ecosystem, into the sum of 8 teams per branch. The American tournament will take place with 1 season divided into 3 periods.

Term 1 – The teams will first play in the corresponding branches, then select one of the best representatives to compete between the branches, from which to select a single team to win a new global tournament.

D, with MSI, the best team from each branch will win 1 capacity, a total of 2 American teams.

Term 3 – the Americas Regional Championship will select 3 teams to go straight to Worlds with at least 1 team from each branch.

There is an advantage after the decision to restructure the Americas in the Americas is that all can test the innovation that the previous structure does not allow – in this case is by combining a visitors in the first order from the level 2 system. The best teams from the second level will compete in a promotion/relegation tournament at the end of each American region, confronting other visitors from each other. The winning team will win a corresponding branch for the next season, creating conditions to constantly attract new talents and improve the competitive dynamism in the tournament.

Riot will provide more information on how the system operates in 2025 and moreover at the end of 2024. Accordingly, Riot believes that this change will be the driving force for talented players to find a new advanced path to become the player playing in the most professional arena.

When developing a new model, Riot's goal is to take advantage of the strengths of each region, develop the number of existing fans, improve competitive gameplay (and the results of the Americas in international tournaments) and improve the path to professional tournament. Riot hopes to create a unique and vibrant competitive context to promote the rich history and potential from North to South, creating something special as the fan community.

In the fall, Riot intends to publish more details about the process of selecting teams in the north and southern branches, sketching competitive structure for each tournament, sharing how to plan to improve the game between branches and provide updated information for the level 2 ecosystem across the Americas.
