Representing the Vietnamese area to compete at AIC 2022 are 3 teams including Saigon Phantom, V Gaming and Team Flash. Saigon Phantom is located in Group B with One Team (Taipei China), Valencia CF Esports (Thailand) and rival Yalla Esports (Middle East – North Africa) withdrew. V Gaming in Group D “Death” when encountering Bacon Time (Thailand), Mad Team (Taipei China), Kaos Next Ruya (Türkiye). Finally, the Flash team in Group A with KFC X Talon (Thailand), Nova Esports (Western Europe), Starry Hope (Myanmar, South Asia).
The Aic 2022 group stage will be divided into 2 stages, in which all matches will be played in the circle format. Taking place in two days on June 16 and June 17, the matches of the first stage of the group stage will be played in the BO1 format, with the top 3 teams each group will win the ticket in phase 2.
Phase 2 will be played in 2 days on June 18 and June 19, with the top teams each entering the knockout round. The matches in phase 2 will be played in the BO2 format, in which the result is 2-0 will bring the 3-point winning team and the team to lose 0 points. Draw 1-1 each team will have 1 point. The international ban on international selection will also be applied to improve the strategy and diversity in the selection of the teams.
The knockout round will include the quarterfinals (from June 23 to June 26) and the semi -finals (from July 2 to July 3). The top 4 teams from the group stage will be divided into 4 different pairs to play the first match of the quarterfinals. They will confront teams with the second highest score of each table from the group stage randomly through the quarterfinal draw.
The matches will be played in the formula of the branch. The losing teams will be moved down, where they will play with other losing teams. The first round of the quarterfinals will be played according to the Bo5 format, while the next match will play in the Bo7 format. The last 2 teams overcome all the remaining opponents will meet again in the final on July 10 to compete for the title of the championship.
