The Vietnamese Women's Women's Government: 'My goal is to open the game about the game'

– When did you play the game and at that time the family thought?

I started playing games since the 9th grade. At first my parents had banned. But then my parents found me passionate. Besides, I also tried to express myself so now they agreed. Currently, most of my matches, my parents watched through the screen, if you have the opportunity to watch live, parents come.

Indeed in the past, my parents banned it because she did not have sympathy when she saw her daughter and played the game. My parents want me to go to school and do stable jobs. In the past, I played the game in my free time, in addition to my time to study to make my spirit more comfortable. Parents often say “girls and keep hugging the phone, later there is no husband.”

– What did you do to change your family's mind?

Because I go to school and make games. Currently, I am doing programming so I combined and studied. Moreover, I played the game but did not affect my own learning so my parents did not prohibit it anymore. I have proven to my parents that playing games is not wrong.

– Does your friends play games?

My friends no one plays the game. Only I play alone.

– Do you feel lonely for that?

I did not feel lonely but found myself different. Normally people still think that only boys can play games, and tournaments are usually only for men. This is the first time that a SEA Games has eSports content for women and is also the first time I joined.

I feel proud and want to prove to all that girls can do all that boys can do. I am still trying to achieve the set goals. I have won a championship in Vietnam and will try to go further.

– Do you convince many other girls to play games like me?

Playing games is passionate so it cannot be convincing. I just play and find people who are passionate about me.

– What is your view when many people, especially the elderly, still think that playing games is damaged?

For me, electronic sports are a profession and recognized. I did not evade but wanted to show people that playing games was also a profession and it deserves to be in big tournaments.

– What is your current goal?

My goal is to open a company about my own game later. Currently I am still making games. But that is the future later. And now I still want to do my work. I want to bring lots of good achievements for Vietnam and myself.

– Do you see the distinction between girls playing games and men playing games or not?

There is really distinction. In the past, if a boy played the game, it would not be okay, but if he was a girl, he would have to receive unfriendly looks. But things are more and more open, so there is no problem.

– Have you ever felt discriminating or disregarding when people look at girls playing games?

Actually yes, but every time I see such eyes, I only have more motivation and nothing to be sad at all.

– After the 31st SEA Games, do you see what changes in Vietnamese women's eSports either?

After this tournament, I see that Vietnamese women's eSports are starting to develop like abroad. I hope Vietnam will have more orthodox awards for women to compete with men.

I think the game will become a career for women, for those who are passionate, not just for men.
