After the coronation of Valorant Champions 2023, EG continued to face the financial crisis. Accordingly, EG was forced to break up with a series of players in both the main squad and the reserve because they could not continue to pay.

Everything even worsened at the backstage, when EG was also said to have negotiated with Flyquest to sell competition and squad. However, according to Sheep Esports, Riot Games ended all agreements between Flyquest and EG.

Unlike League of Legends, VCT tournaments have cooperated teams instead of franchise organizations. Electronic sports organizations have signed a 4 -year contract with Riot Games to compete in their corresponding VCT tournaments around the world and do not own the competition. However, EG and FlyQuest have hoped that Riot will allow the deal to be approved because G2 Esports has acquired the VCT's VCT formation and competition.

EG is preparing to attend the Americas Kickoff VCT with the team that is almost completely different from 2023. However, whether EG will continue to join Valorant after the expiry of the 4 -year contract with Riot Games for VCT or not has not been disclosed.
