On 24/4, Riot issued an emergency update notice of errors appearing on the Split map. In a notice on the X platform, Riot Games emphasized: “We will eliminate the Split map from the play modes of Competitive, Unrated, Premier, Swiftplay and Spike Rush.” Earlier, the Split map was expected to be added to the Premier but was eliminated and replaced by Ascent.

Accordingly, Riot Games pointed out two errors that are appearing in this map. The first is an error related to CYPE when allowing the special agent trap skills to continue operating even after being defeated, helping Cypher reveal the opponent position. The second error in Site A of this map, helping agents can occupy the corner in the Rafters and attack opponents from above but it is difficult to detect.
This error can be applied to agents capable of “flying” like Jett, Raze or instant movement like Yoru or Chamber, helping these agents take great advantages in gunfight situations. According to Riot Games, this error will be fixed in the update 8.08 but it is unclear when the launch. After fixing these two errors, Riot will allow the use of the Split map to play normally.
However, Riot did not mention professional tournaments on this map competition. Currently, Split is one of 7 maps used in professional competition. In case the teams continue to play the Split map, the possibility of Riot will notify the teams about this error and prohibit the use of CYPE agent. In addition, other map replacement options may appear but will affect the current tactics of the teams. However, if this measure is applied, Riot will choose one of the three maps: Haven, Fracture and Pearl to play.
