Previously, teams like Bleed, G2 Esports will play VCT regional tournaments in 2024 and 2025, then return to Challengers. However, with this change, teams can stay with the tournament if performed well in these regional tournaments.
With the new regulation, the Ascension tournament teams winning tickets to Valorant Champions 2025 will be able to stay in regional tournaments for another year. Thus, the Ascension teams entered the top 4 in the Stage 2 tournament if playing for 1 more year. If these teams only end the tournament in the Top 8, they will compete for next season competition through the promotion round. For teams outside the top 8 will be relegated directly and return to play in the Challengers.
The above changes will ensure the G2, Gentle Mates, Bleed Esports and Dragon Ranger Gaming teams will stay in the region in 2025. Besides, the Ascension championship teams are also promoted and bring the total number of teams to 12. In the next season, if the two teams from Ascension won tickets to Valorant Champions 2025, the team with higher achievements at the year -end tournament will be guaranteed in the next season and the other team will have to play promotions.
